Let whole grains put sugars to shame
Eating foods high in refined sugar such as cakes, cookies, and even white bread and white rice take your insulin levels on a rollercoaster. You know that spike in energy followed by that mid-morning crash you experience after eating Fruit Loops? You can avoid that unhealthy pattern if you just substitute whole grains like brown rice, oatmeal, and popcorn for those sugary snacks.
